Taiko drums are handcrafted from wood and covered with animal hide, producing the deep, powerful rhythms that define traditional Japanese music and dance. In this masterclass, participants will learn the basics of Taiko drumming, try different playing techniques, and experience the strength and energy behind this unique art form.

The lesson takes place in a specially equipped studio, where each participant is provided with their own drum. Professional instructors with experience performing both in Japan and abroad will guide you through the fundamentals, demonstrate rhythm patterns, and help you practice them step by step.

Alongside hands-on training, you’ll also discover the history of Taiko drumming, its role in Japanese music, and its connection to rituals and ceremonies. Playing Taiko requires physical stability and coordination, making the session both dynamic and engaging.

At the end of the class, you’ll enjoy a short live performance by the instructors—an inspiring demonstration of the power and spirit of Taiko.
