Tour highlights:
- Great Buddha of Kamakura (Daibutsu): See Japan’s second-largest bronze statue of Amida Buddha, cast in 1252.
- Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine: Learn about Hachiman, the god of warriors, at Kamakura’s most important shrine.
- Hasedera Temple: Discover one of Japan’s tallest wooden statues of the goddess Kannon and enjoy sweeping ocean views from the temple’s observation deck.
Optional visit (choose one):
- Zeniarai Benzaiten Shrine: Experience a local tradition by washing your money in the sacred spring for good fortune, or try a paper fortune ritual.
- Hokokuji Temple Bamboo Grove: Capture stunning photos in a serene bamboo forest (note: a 30-minute walk is required if the tour is not by private transport). Relax afterwards with a cup of green tea in the temple’s teahouse (tea not included).
